Behavioral Health Systems Toolkit

The Alterra Mountain Company Community Foundation has created a toolkit for mountain communities that provides resources for resort staff, community leaders and members, and organizations interested in exploring community-informed and -driven problem solving around issues such as suicide prevention, substance abuse, trauma, grief, sexual consent, homesickness, and more.

This toolkit was developed to support mountain communities as they work together to strengthen behavioral health. It offers practical guidance for local leaders, nonprofits, public health agencies, hospitals, funders, grassroots groups, people with lived experience, employers, schools, public safety partners, and other community partners who want to improve coordination, identify and close gaps in care, and build a system that works better for everyone.

This toolkit moves through 10 stages and provides tips, tools, guidance, and resources for each stage.

The stage-based approach makes this toolkit applicable to those that are just beginning to explore mental health challenges, or have been operating a coordinated community-driven system for years.

Please reach out to the Foundation directly at communityfoundation@alterracommunityfoundation.org with any questions about the Behavioral Health Systems Improvement Toolkit.

AMCCF would like to make this Toolkit available to all who would find it useful. To request a free copy of the Toolkit, please follow the link and instructions below.
