evidence-based trauma treatment for Ski Patrol, bike patrol and Heli Guides

Ski patrollers, bike patrollers and heli guides are our first responders in the mountains. They are regularly exposed to potentially traumatic incidents and may develop significant stress injuries, substance use disorders and/or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

GRANT CRITERIA

PURPOSE

To provide up to $1,000 per patroller or heli guide to pay for evidence-based trauma treatment. Resort first responders are regularly exposed to potentially traumatic incidents and may develop significant stress injuries, substance use disorders and/or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. These grants fund the specialized psychotherapies needed by some patrollers and guides that EAPs do not provide.

COVERED TREATMENTS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for PTSD
  • Prolonged Exposure Therapy
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Cognitive Processing Therapy
  • Substance Use Treatment
ELIGIBILITY

These grants are available to ski patrollers, bike patrollers and heli guides at any Ikon Pass resort in the U.S. and Canada. The patroller or guide must used the funds toward evidence-based trauma treatment.

APPLICATION DEADLINE

This program is available on a rolling basis and applicants can apply at any time throughout the year.

PROVIDERS

Applicants may seek services from a previously identified provider or may seek the assistance of the Alterra Community Foundation in finding a local or virtual provider, if necessary.
