Optimizing Behavioral health Access

The Alterra Mountain Company Community Foundation will facilitate convenings of community partners to energize community efforts to improve local mental healthcare systems.

These events will provide opportunities to leverage available resources and encourage collaboration to achieve the greatest impact. After our initial pilot, we will develop a playbook for future convenings and replicate the model throughout the Ikon Pass community. The ultimate goal is to facilitate the development of a strategic plan for each community to help assess local strengths and weaknesses and start (or reinvigorate) community efforts to improve mental healthcare.


Facilitate convenings of community partners to introduce/review community health system best practices by identifying:

  • Redundances and gaps in care
  • Funding opportunities for treatment scholarships, mental health professionals, peer navigators, and more
  • Creative contracting opportunities with providers
  • Strategies to build the local behavioral health workforce

Employers, providers, state and local government, other key stakeholders

  1. To energize community efforts to improve local mental health care systems
  2. Achieve greatest impact for each community
