Robert Foley, M.Ed., currently serves as the Executive Director of the Alterra Mountain Company Community Foundation. He brings 26 years of nonprofit management and programming experience to the Foundation - having worked on variety of health, public health and health equity initiatives. Previously he served at the Director of Grants at The Colorado Trust, a statewide private foundation in Colorado with a strategic focus on grantmaking for food insecurity, housing, and mental and behavioral health. Prior to that, he was a Senior Project at the CDC Foundation working on the national COVID response. Before moving into philanthropy, he worked more than 15 years on health and public health advocacy, intervention design and implementation, evaluation, and strengthening public health systems and capacity within Tribal and urban Indian communities. He earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Colorado State University, and is currently a doctoral student in philanthropic leadership at Indiana University. When not working or studying, he likes to travel, read, and play in the mountains with his husband and son.
